Deprived of [[energon]] after the near-destruction of Cybertron and the draining of its natural resources, Repugnus and his tribe were trapped in their simple [[beast mode]]s for many years, eking out a hardscrabble existence in their dying world. Repugnus and his tribe captured [[Bumblebee (Cyberverse)|Bumblebee]] as he journeyed towards the [[Well of All Sparks|Well of the Allspark]], {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron III}} intending to feast on the [[Autobot]]. Before the Monsterbots could start eating, [[Cheetor (Cyberverse)|Cheetor]] caught up with them and told them of their mission, using the [[AllSpark|Allspark]] to sate their hunger and win over their friendship. In gratitude, Repugnus led the duo to the Well's backdoor. Once [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] was restored, Repugnus rejoiced at the planet's revival. {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron IV}}

Unfortunately, a snobbish Monsterbot named [[Affluous]] took the chance to have [[Teknicus]] build a device segregating those loyal to him, whom he dubbed the "[[Energon Master]]s", and those he deemed unworthy, Repugnus among them. Banished to the wilds beyond the Monsterbot city, Repugnus and his tribe had to survive on scraps, lest they die of starvation or get captured for trespassing. When fleeing a group of [[Injector (Cyberverse)|Injectors]], Repugnus was saved by [[Grimlock (Cyberverse)|Grimlock]]. In gratitude, Repugnus offered his new friend some energon and told him of the Monsterbots' societal divide. Morally outraged by what he heard, Grimlock led the Monsterbots to the city to overthrow the Energon Masters. When they reached the city, Repugnus' hunger won over and he led his brethren to an energon pool, leaving the Autobots to destroy Teknicus's tower and restore equality among the Monsterbots, Repugnus transforming back to [[robot mode]]. {{storylink|Journey To The Valley Of Repugnus}}

When the Autobots needed a place to plan against [[Tarn (Cyberverse)|Tarn]] and his [[Decepticon supersoldier]]s, they hid in the Valley of Repugnus. Repugnus himself met the [[Dinobot (Cyberverse)|Dinobots]] on the way to the rendezvous, and led them to Hot Rod and the others. During the battle against Tarn’s forces, Repugnus and another Monsterbot came to Bumblebee’s rescue, draining the Energon of a supersoldier attacking him.
