'''Caliburn''' hails from an alternate [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]], one where the Autobots are all but extinct. He is a personal attendant of [[Megazarak]], gleefully tagging along, picking off anything that survives Megazarak's onslaught.

He peppers his acts of destruction and cruelty with quips and gallows humor; he enjoys twisting the knife before delivering the killing blow. He relishes the death and destruction, and follows Megazarak's commands happily. Megazarak tolerates Caliburn's gab since the tiny terror's "lightning blaster" mode has incredible power, unleashing blasts of 60-kilovolt bursts of electricity.

Caliburn accompanied Megazarak deep into the heart of Cybertron, in search of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], which had been hidden by the last Matrix-bearer. Megazarak sought the [[Oracle]], which he believed would tell him where the Matrix was hidden. * Caliburn went through many fictional changes before the final version was released.  He was originally going to be a [[Nebulan]] [[Targetmaster]] contortionist, and had among his pre-production names "Vanquish" and "Destructicon".

* The word "Caliburn" is an ancient name for the legendary sword [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliburn Excalibur]. Whether this relates to his character at all is unknown.

* Although Caliburn's toy is a redeco of [[Mini-Con]] [[Leader-1]]'s toy, Caliburn-the-character is explicitly stated to be a [[Micromaster]].  He is never referred to as being a Mini-Con.  There is no reason to suspect that Mini-Cons even exist in his home universe.
