With the bulk of the [[Autobot]] forces disabled by the Transfixatron and facing certain doom in a ghost town, [[Chip Chase]] analysed the effects of the [[Decepticon]] weapon, allowing [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] to put together the anti-transfixatron grenade. A small group of Autobots, together with Chip and [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike Witwicky]], took the device to the ghost town to rescue their friends. [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] was sent to intercept them, but they were able to keep the grenade away from him long enough for Chip to throw it into the midst of the captured Autobots. It promptly exploded, restoring the Autobots' transformational abilities and allowing them to finally fight back. {{storylink|The Autobot Run}}
