While on cleaning duty, the boy overheard the teachers talk about the arrival of a transfer student. He shared this news with [[Joyce]], Clump and [[Illumina]], whom he met up with at the fountain in front of the school. It led them to discuss what kind of person the new student would be. The conversation came to a halt when a [[Holi|police car]] and a [[Star Saber (Victory)|spacecraft]] entered the campus, soon revealing themselves to be [[Transformer]]s and the family of the new student, [[Jean Minakaze]]. Unlike his bud Clump, the boy was initially kind towards Jean, but during a [[Decepticon]] attack on the school, he chose Clump's side when he blamed Jean for bringing them there. [[Headmistress Mabel]] and Illumina defended Jean, effectively shutting the boys up. Once Jean, as pilot of the [[V-Star]], had helped fend off the attack, the boy went back to his friendly self. {{storylink|Attack! Leozack }} 

When Jean showed off [[Illumina II|his newly-built mech]], the boy asked how it was operated and Jean promised he’d show it after school. {{storylink|Jean - Defend the Campus!!}} We shall assume he kept that promise.

The boy fled to the forests with the others when [[Deathsaurus (Victory)|Deathsaurus]] was unleashing the [[Planet-Destroying Fortress]]'s power on populated areas. With the destruction of the fortress, a flash of light appeared in the sky, prompting all to look up. [[Galaxy Shuttle]] came into view, who was to return Jean to [[Earth]] from his participation in the battle. The boy was among the people welcoming Jean back. {{storylink|Showdown!
