When Cobra unearthed a number of deactivated [[Transformer]]s, they reprogrammed them and gave them new vehicle modes. The [[Autobot]] twins [[Sunstreaker (G1)|Sunstreaker]] and [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]] were modified into Stingers, and used these vehicle modes during the attack on the [[SPS Research Facility]]. Unfortunately for Cobra, their tough armored vehicles were easily rammed aside by [[Wheeljack (G1)|a rally car]]. {{storylink|G.I.
