'''Grease pits''' are a type of [[Gladiatorial combat|arena]] found on various planets, such as [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] and [[Rigel 6]]. The grease pits on Rigel 6 host [[turboworm]] wrestling matches. While this already sounds like a [[Wikipedia:Dog fighting|questionable kind of entertainment]], it's still not as bad as what goes down at the grease pits on Cybertron. Located in [[Polyhex]] and thus hosted by the [[Decepticon]]s, the grease pits are among the most brutal and gruesome enterprises in the planet's history. They are not the only type of arena found in Polyhex, and what sets them apart is that in the grease pits, it's Autobot captive against Autobot captive until one of them [[death|permanently stops fighting]].

Out on a routine patrol mission, [[Tap-Out (G1)|Tap-Out]] and his platoon were taken captive by the Decepticons and sent to the grease pits. During their time there, Tap-Out did all he could to ensure his unit's safety, including taking the place of his comrades in the arena. [[Kick-Off (G1)|Kick-Off]] was one of the many Autobot prisoners forced to fight in the grease pits. He used his time there to learn as much as possible about the Decepticons and become a better warrior.
