The three-faced '''Violen Jiger''' (バイオレンジャイガー ''Baiorenjaigā'') is a supernatural being that was created when the [[Spark|souls]] of many slain [[Decepticon]] soldiers coalesced together.<ref>At the time, the concept of [[Spark|Sparks]] did not exist, making the idea of a being composed of Transformer "souls" very unusual. Most fans don't have a problem with applying the Spark concept retroactively, however, making this... slightly less weird than it was.</ref> Appearing after the demise of [[Deathsaurus (Victory)|Deathsaurus]], he became the Decepticons' New Emperor of Destruction.<ref>Violen Jiger has a few different titles: the ''Zone'' OVA called him "New Emperor of Destruction" (新破壊大帝 ''Shin Hakai Taitei''), while the comic that adapted the episode called him "New Destron Emperor" (新デストロン大帝 ''Shin'' Destron ''Taitei''). The ''[[TV Magazine]]'' story pages mostly referred to him as "Emperor of Destruction", although near the end of the run he is called "Mightiest/Strongest Emperor" (最強大帝 ''Saikyō Taitei'') a couple of times.</ref> He is capable of separating into three enormous, insect-like creatures: '''Vion''' (バイオン ''Baion''), '''Lenja''' (レンジャー ''Renjā'') and '''Igern''' (イガーン ''Igān''). The entity known as Violen Jiger is a fusion of the souls of slain Decepticon warriors. {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 12}} After somehow coming to life on the [[Tenth Planet]], he proceeded to cover the world in dark clouds, blotting out all starlight and turning it into a barren, desolate world. From then on, he would use it as his base of operations. {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 10}} {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 12}}

Violen Jiger next gathered a group of Decepticon giants to serve as his [[Nine Great Demon Generals]]; [[Bruticus (G1)|Bruticus]], [[Predaking]], [[Abominus (G1)|Abominus]], [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]], [[King Poseidon]], [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] and [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]]. Under his orders, they took control of various worlds and began construction of a "Decepticon Zone". This caught the attention of [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]], who mobilized the Autobot forces of planet [[Micro|Zone]] against them.  {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 1}}

When the Decepticons attacked planet [[Feminia]], Star Saber was there himself to try to stop them, only to be caught on the planet as it exploded. A month later, Violen Jiger once more sent out his Generals, and while doing so declared that the ultimate goal of the Decepticons was total control of the universe. As part of his plan for this, his Generals stole [[Energon Z]] from planet Zone, then travelled to Earth to acquire the [[Zodiac]], so that "Super Energy" could be created by infusing the Zodiac with the Energon Z. This plan was foiled by the arrival of the [[Powered Master]]s, [[Dai Atlas (Zone)|Dai Atlas]] and [[Sonic Bomber]]. {{storylink|Zone (manga)|Transformers: Zone}}

Violen Jiger's Generals then suffered a series of defeats against the Powered Masters.  {{storylink|Zone (story page)|Zone Part 5}} {{storylink|Zone (story page)|Zone Part 6}} In the meantime, however, [[Metrotitan (Zone)|Metrotitan]] had emerged from his birthplace beneath the surface of [[Titan (moon)|Titan]] and was taught the ways of evil by the Generals.  {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 7}}

Following Metrotitan's defeat by the newly-arrived [[Road Fire]], Violen Jiger appeared on [[Earth]] himself. He easily shrugged off the attacks of the Powered Masters, seized the Zodiac, and took the [[Galaxy Rocket]], abducting the [[Micromaster]] [[Moonradar (Zone)|Moonradar]] and the Autobot allies [[Cain]], [[Akira Serikawa|Akira]], and [[Emusa]] in the process. He then returned to the Tenth Planet with his prizes, as the Powered Masters in their [[Big Powered]] spaceship form followed in hot pursuit. {{storylink|Zone (story page)|''Zone'' Part 10}}

When the Powered Masters arrived, Violen Jiger separated into his three insectoid components—Vion, Lenja, and Igern—and attacked the Autobots. While Igern battled Sonic Bomber in the air, Lenja threatened the Galaxy Rocket and its occupants, prompting Road Fire to safeguard it. Vion went after Dai Atlas himself, and was felled by the hero's Double Powered Cutter attack—losing the Zodiac to him in the process. Igern and Lenja, too, soon fell against their opponents. In outer space, Violen Jiger revealed his true form: a phoenix-like, skull-headed flaming mass composed of Decepticon spirits. Surely, the Powered Masters were no match for this! However, placing their hands on the Zodiac and focusing their minds, the Powered Masters were able to combine into their Big Powered form, but with thirty times its normal strength! The super-vehicle plowed through the creature, leaving a rainbow trail in its wake. Thus, Violen Jiger was defeated by the Rainbow Powered Attack!<ref>Seriously. During the ongoing war between Autobots and Decepticons, the new [[Emperor of Destruction]] Violen Jiger and his [[Nine Great Demon Generals]] ([[Bruticus (G1)|Bruticus]], [[Predaking]], [[Abominus (G1)|Abominus]], [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]], [[King Poseidon]], [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] and [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]]) appeared without warning, heralding a new phase of battle.

For reasons unknown, Violen Jiger's Generals Overlord, Abominus, and Menasor laid waste to Planet [[Feminia]],<ref>Why the Generals attack Feminia is never established in the lone ''Zone'' episode. If the events of the story pages apply to the cartoon, however, presumably it was part of his "conquer worlds to make a Decepticon Zone" scheme.</ref> completely destroying the world and nearly killing [[Star Saber (Victory)|Victory Saber]] in the process.

Later, in a swirling cloud of space, the Generals gathered before the humongous spectral form of their leader, who proclaimed Victory Saber to have been vaporized. Following a short cheer from his minions, Violen Jiger stated his intention to take over nearby space to create a "Decepticon Zone". As he switched between his three faces, however, he revealed that he required "Super Energy" to do so—which he would have his Generals gather by any means necessary.

76 days later,<ref>Why they waited over two and a half months to attack is unknown. In comparison, they only waited a month in the comic adaptation.</ref> his Generals attacked the [[Autobot]] headquarters on [[Micro|Planet Zone]], stealing their [[Energon Z]], a powerful new energy-source. They then headed to [[Earth]] to search for the [[Zodiac]], a primordial orb which supposedly birthed all life in the known universe.

Meanwhile, [[Dai Atlas (Zone)|Dai Atlas]], having found Victory Saber and taken him to Zone for medical attention, was informed of the Energon Z theft. He was then able to determine that the Generals would next target the Zodiac, and what their eventual goal was: by fusing the Energon Z and Zodiac together, they would be able to create a new planet! Travelling to [[Earth]], Dai Atlas and [[Sonic Bomber]] put a halt to Violen Jiger's schemes, slaying several of his Generals and obtaining the Zodiac for the forces of justice.  {{storylink|Enter the New Supreme Commander, Dai Atlas!}}

==Notes==
* Violen Jiger also appears in [[Zone (story page)|''Zone'' story page #4]], but only in a recap. He likewise appears in ''Zone'' story pages #6 and #7, but only in previews for the direct-to-video ''Zone'' episode.
* What Violen Jiger can actually '''do''' is kind of... sketchy. He evidently provided his Generals with their "Armored Gear" equipment... and BlackZarak was pretty ''dead'' when we last saw him, so he '''presumably''' brought him back to life... but as Trypticon was suddenly the same the size as the combiners, it seems he ''shrank'' him.
* The ''Zone'' comic is the only time Violen Jiger is depicted with eyes in the palms of his hands. Looks neat, though! 
* In the cartoon, each of Violen Jiger's three faces spoke with a different tone. The nature of this is never elaborated upon.
* Though all three forms of ''Zone'' media state that he was after "Super Energy", only the cartoon episode implies that Violen Jiger wants to use this energy to create a new planet. What he would have ''done'' with the planet is anyone's guess, but the idea may tie into the fact that the proposed series of ''Zone'' direct-to-video episodes was supposed to end with the creation of a new, Edenic world.
* While it can be safely assumed that Igern is based on a mantis and Vion is based on a stag beetle, it is more difficult to say what insect Lenja uses as a base. Some Japanese fans, however, surmise that he is a mole cricket.
* The English [[Romanization]] of his name was a debated topic for quite some time, with interpretations including "Violenjiger", "Violent Jiger", "Violent Chigger", "Violen Jig-er", "Violin Juggler", "Bio Ranger Iga", "Valium Chugger", and "Crazy Engrish Fun-Man".  The publication of ''[[Transformers: The Ark II|The Ark II]]'' finally provided us with an official spelling.
