The dull tedium of the work has sapped his enthusiasm for his work, but things are about to get more exciting. After double checking, Brooks consulted [[Kelly (DOTM)|Kelly]], who said it would be extremely bad if the object hit [[Earth]], and [[Newman]], who was unable to calculate where it would hit. Luckily the object hit the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], but they all agreed that the readings indicated it wasn&#039;t a meteor or anything else mundane. While trying to get hold of [[NASA]] administrator [[James E. Webb|Webb]], Brooks asked Carla Spencer out for a drink. By the time [[John F.
