Using the Global Building Corporation name, the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] built numerous buildings all over [[Earth]] attached to the Destructor Button, including [[Freedom Sports Arena]], the [[Triplet Towers]], the [[Keyoshi Center]], the [[Raskolnikov Hotel]], and [[Condo City]]. The [[Autobot]]s soon got wind of the Decepticon plot, and the Decepticons were forced to activate the 98 buildings that were built instead of the planned 100 on "[[Destruction day]]". Using the hostages in the buildings, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] demanded Earth's surrender, which the [[United Nations]] discussed.

The plot was thwarted by the Autobots when [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]] teleported to the Destructor Button and reversed its effects. [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] followed up Mirage's efforts by destroying the button. {{storylink|Battle for Earth}}
