	Fright Face ~~was the leader of~~ a ~~gang~~ of Predacons ~~operating~~ in the ~~lawless~~ [[Heap]] in the ~~Axiom Nexus Offworlder Zone~~. ~~They chanced upon~~ [[Cy-Kill ~~(GoBots)~~\|Cy-Kill]] and [[~~Warpath~~ (GoBots)\|~~Warpath~~]], ~~only~~ to ~~be soundly defeated by~~ the ~~pair~~. ~~Though Warpath wanted to destroy them,~~ Cy-Kill ~~had another idea. He challenged~~ Fright Face to ~~single combat~~, ~~with~~ the ~~winner to pledge allegiance~~ to the ~~loser~~. Cy-Kill ~~prevailed~~, and Fright Face ~~honored~~ the ~~terms~~ of the ~~deal~~.		While stranded in the multiversal hub city of [[Axiom Nexus]], [[Cy-Kill (GoBots)\|Cy-Kill]] worked to rebuild his power base with new [[Renegade]]s. Fright Face led a group of [[Uniend]] [[Predacon (Prime)\|Predacons]] camped out in the [[Heap]] who confronted Cy-Kill during his exploits. Cy-Kill challenged Fright Face to single combat, with the prize of the loser and his subordinates swearing absolute loyalty to the winner. Fright Face agreed, but ultimately was defeated by the Renegade overlord. True to his word, Fright Face made his men into utterly loyal servants of the mighty Cy-Kill. Cy-Kill even used his old [[Puzzler]] technology to give the Predacons a combiner form as Monsterous. Fright Face and the others traveled with Cy-Kill back to his home reality when he abandoned Axiom Nexus. {{storylink\|Transformers: Renegade Rhetoric\|Renegade Rhetoric}}

			Cy-Kill and his new recruits emerged in the midst of an epic battle between the Guardian fleet and the ''[[Rogue Star]]''. As Monsterous, Fright Face and his team gleefully tore through the surprised [[Courageous]] before turning on the [[Command Center (GoBots)\|Command Centers]]. Unfortunately, [[Leader-1 (GoBots)\|Leader-1]] tricked Cy-Kill into firing a killing shot at him, which he dodged so that it hit Monsterous instead. This respite allowed the Guardians to retreat, but the Renegades had clearly won the day. {{storylink\|Opportunity Knocks Part 2}}

			Cy-Kill dispatched Fright Face and the creature warriors to [[Philadelphia]] as Monsterous to draw Courageous out for another battle, but Monsterous was overwhelmed by a squad of Guardian [[Boomer]]s. {{storylink\|Six Heads are Better than One}}

			Although the Monsterous Renegades began to integrate into the ranks of Cy-Kill's troops, Fright Face himself remained standoff-ish. Cy-Kill was secretly relieved by this development, as he didn't want Monsterous to fall under the sway of the untrustworthy [[Monster GoBot]]s. So long as they didn't challenge him to a duel (and win), Cy-Kill felt confident in Fright Face's loyalties. Cy-Kill brought Monsterous to an ambush to try and seize a matter transmutation ring, but the surprise appearance of Courageous made it a fair fight, and so the Renegades retreated again. {{storylink\|One Born Every Minute}}

	Fright Face ~~embraced the Renegade philosophy~~, ~~so much so that Cy-Kill gave his band the~~ [[~~Puzzler~~]] ~~upgrade~~ to ~~allow them to combine to form~~ [[~~Monsterous~~]].		At the [[Cape Canaveral]] Space Center, Fright Face joined [[Zod]], [[Stallion]], and [[Jigsaw]] on an infiltration mission to retrieve a quantum supercomputer from a new space probe. Jigsaw's "[[Apollo (GoBots)\|Apollo]]" disguise failed, but Fright Face got ahold of [[Newcastle\|General Newcastle]] and forced Leader-1 to provide the probe. Before the Renegades could secure the probe, however, Zod bit down into it, shocking him with a quantum-powered electrical surge. Suddenly super-intelligent, Fright Face decided to end the mission and bring the changed Zod back to Cy-Kill. {{storylink\|In Zod We Trust}}

	~~Cy-Kill was eventually outed as~~ the ~~terrorist he never really denied being, prompting~~ [[~~Cheetor~~ (~~TransTech~~)\|~~Cheetor~~]] ~~and his security forces~~ to ~~attack. Monsterous and Puzzler were pitted against Courageous and the [[Fossil Lord]]'s [[Fossilsaurus]] until Cy-Kill tipped his hand and revealed the Renegade [[Power Suit]] Warrior, [[Nemesis (GoBots)\|Nemesis]]. {{storylink\|Combiner Wars Part 1}} The forces of good rallied, however, and prepared a counter-strike.
