Stennis'' and informed him that [[Devastator (ROTF)|the mother of all non-biological]]s destroying the [[Great Pyramid of Giza]] in an attempt to blow up the [[Sun]]. Simmons was aware of the existence of a prototype [[rail gun]], and asked Wilder to relay a ready order to the properly equipped ship, which turned out to be the ''USS Kidd''. At one point, the on-site soldiers requested remote backup, and it was decided to launch Tomahawk missiles to attack their robotic adversaries. However, the footage is cut differently between both films, with the shot featured in ''Revenge of the Fallen'' going on for a bit longer, whereas the shot featured in ''Dark of the Moon'' starts a bit earlier, with a pan across the mission control room completely missing from ''Revenge of the Fallen''.
