Everything was going great until their class received a new foreign exchange student: [[Solon Kitakaze (G1)\|Solon Kitakaze]]. As it turned out, Solon was a cyborg working for the [[Decepticon]]s, only enrolling at the school to find out about human weaknesses. Always the voice of reason, Illumina tried to discourage her male cohorts from running off into danger, but tagged along anyway so that they wouldn't get separated. When [[Leozack]] and the [[Dinoforce]] attacked the school, the other kids blamed Jan for leading them there; however, Illumina defended him by pointing out that they were after the Autobots, and if it wasn't for the Autobots, the Decepticons would have devastated the world. {{storylink\|Attack! Leozack}}. Later, Jan and Holi gave her a tour of the Autobots' base, but she had to cut her visit short to go to the [[Ocean Exhibition]]. Unfortunately, this was the Decepticons' next target.
