To fool Bruticus, who had defeated Defensor, into believing that Blaster had no loyalty to the Autobots, Blaster and the children put on a show where Blaster "shot" Sammy and Jed burst into tears for his fallen friend. The distraction allowed Blaster to put Bruticus out of commission, and Blaster received permission from the Protectobots to escort the children to safety.

	The children, seeing [[Blast Off (G1)\|Blast Off]] inert, convinced Blaster to accompany them into space by mode locking Blast Off and using him ~~to travel~~ into ~~outer space. Unfortunately~~, Jed noticed another spaceship, the [[Ark (G1)\|Ark]]. The kids were taken into [[Wheeljack (G1)\|Wheeljack]]'s custody and outfitted with spacesuits. The children were brought before Grimlock, who deemed them guilty of helping the traitorous Blaster and sentenced them to death. In reality, this was a ruse to draw out Blaster, who would be compelled to save the children. Just as they were sent drifting into space, they were suddenly swallowed by [[Sky Lynx (G1)\|Sky Lynx]], who was saving them on Wheeljack's behalf.
