The movie portrays the totally true and historically-accurate story of undercover G.I. Joe agent Chuckles, who infiltrated Cobra, got the girl, and ultimately saved the world.

Fiction
2005 IDW continuity
Thundercracker first learned of Chuckles during a chat with Chameleon, his audio receptors perking up at the mention of "a guy in a Hawaiian shirt." After hearing Chameleon's account of Chuckles' exploits, Thundercracker immediately knew he had a worthy subject for his first movie screenplay. New Cybertron Part 3: Behind My Bleeding Back He would consequently devote much of his free time to writing said-screenplay, envisioning a heroic tale in which Chuckles saved the entire world from Cobra Commander's fiendish plot to launch nuclear missiles. However, Thundercracker was forced to put his work on the Chuckles screenplay on hold to write, direct, and star in Starscream: The Movie. After it was completed, Starscream: The Movie only saw limited release on an obscure direct-to-digital platform, but famed director J.J. Hackensack viewed the movie and phoned Thundercracker, interested in a creative collaboration with him. Starscream: The Movie (comic)

Now "connected" in Hollywood, Thundercracker had the resources to eventually finish, finance, and film Last Laugh. He was in the process of completing a final edit of the movie when Unicron attacked Earth. A Sunrise Dark After Unicron was defeated and life began to return to normal, Last Laugh was released to the general public and proved to be a hit. The film was even nominated for "Best Original Screenplay", and Thundercracker was allowed to attend the awards ceremony, elated to have had his creative vision recognized at last. Post

Notes
*This movie is based on the events of IDW's G.I. Joe: Cobra mini-series, obviously embellished and rewritten to Thundercracker's liking. Among other things, Chuckles does not "save the world" through his actions, nor does he manage to save his love interest Jinx (he actually kills her himself to maintain his cover!) Even the Krake that Thundercracker envisions as the main antagonist of the movie's climactic scene is inaccurate; the actual Chuckles had already unceremoniously assassinated Cobra Commander by the point he has to deal with the nuclear missiles, and was instead with Xamot Paoli at the time.
