In his universe, he had been put into stasis lock during a complicated series of temporal shenanigans. When he was revived, the Autobots had gained an immeasurable tactical advantage over the Decepticons by evolving into the hyper-dimensional Alternity. This rankled Megatron, who discretely set out on an interdimensional journey, researching the new capabilities of his foes and finding like-minded Megatrons. Learning of the Hytherion, a plan began to develop of luring the creature out and seizing its power to become a rival to the Alternity. Successfully drawing the creature to his home reality, Megatron used the [[Chaotizer]] device to take control of the Hytherion, and so the Megatron Aggregate was born. {{storylink\|To Mega Therion}}

			The various Megatrons did battle with the Alternity and their allies across multiple universes, but for every act of destruction they would inflict the Alternity would simply undo it. {{storylink\|Arch-Nemesis!}} {{storylink\|To Die Game!}} {{storylink\|Foreshadows}} After a time Megatron began focusing on the year 2009. What the Autobots did not suspect was that Megatron's goal was to find a way to destroy their higher-dimensional forms. Gathering various Decepticons from across the multiverse, Megatron imbued them with a fragment of his own power, dubbing this new force the "[[Questor]]s". Commanded by a [[Starscream (G1)\|Starscream]], the Questors were tasked with learning all they could on the mysterious "[[Planicron]]s", inhabitants of a bizarre two-dimensional universe. {{storylink\|The World Is Flat!}} {{storylink\|Foreshadows}} {{storylink\|Hunt for the Planicrons}}

			Eventually, Starscream managed to discover a means of controlling the Planicrons, and brought it to Megatron on his base on [[Menonia]]. The treacherous lieutenant's suspicions that Megatron had an ulterior motive for recruiting him were proven right when Megatron revealed Starscream was to be the test subject for whether it was possible or not to kill a lifeform infused with Alternium. With a successful demonstration, Megatron controlled the Planicrons and used them to eradicate the Alternity's higher-dimensional consciousnesses. However, before Megatron could enjoy his victory Thundercracker suddenly broke his hold over the Planicrons. In order to distract Megatron while the Planicrons ascended out of their dimension, the Autobots attacked his various auto-avatars, hoping that doing enough damage would loosen his hold over the Hytherion, a guess that proved correct. With 667 of his avatars destroyed, Megatron slipped into a rage and attacked the Planicrons as they were ascending. The Planicrons, fused into one form, effortlessly obliterated the Aggregate in one blow.

			At least some of the Megatrons who had formed the Aggregate survived this, and in the aftermath the Autobots and the newly ascended Planicrons vowed to keep a watch out for them. {{storylink\|Alternation}}
