Intrigued at the prospect of harnessing its energy, [[Optimus Prime (G1)\|Optimus Prime]] led them to the rim of the volcano, where they were attacked by [[Megatron (G1)\|Megatron]] and the [[Decepticon]]s who had followed them there. After they fired at each other from opposite sides of the crater for a while, John and Tim grew concerned that the volcano was about to erupt, and persuaded Optimus to retreat to the foot of the mountain.
