:A toy conceptualized for [[TakaraTomy|Takara]]'s ''Microman'' toyline, a solicitation for Giant Robo G-1 appeared in the 1979 edition of the ''Takara General Catalog'', Takara's periodical for potential vendors and other toy industry professionals. Intended as a line centerpiece, G-1 was to pull out all the stops: in addition to the traditional cockpit for a Microman figure expected of larger toys in the line, it was intended to include a compartment for the pilot's accessories, a motorized walking gimmick, radio control functionality, and even a voice changer. The toy came no closer to production, and the imposing resin prototype pictured here remains the only known evidence G-1 ever existed.
