The recruits read about the TX3000 during their early training on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], except for [[Hot Shot (Prime)|Hot Shot]], who never underwent any training. When five TX3000s were later loaned to the [[Rescue Bot Training Center]] on [[Earth]], Hot Shot attempted to cover for the fact he was unfamiliar with the device, and managed to fluke his way through the initial test in the training simulator. The recruits were subsequently allowed to take the devices with them when they were called out to deal with a derailed train in [[Milford]], however Hot Shot's inexperience led to him screwing up the rescue and forcing the other recruits to use their TX3000s to save the train. After some encouragement from [[Cody Burns]], Hot Shot put in some TX3000 practice to improve his skills. {{storylink|The TX3000}}
