Cryptic to the last, he responds that his time has come as Croaton deflects another shot from Iaconus that heads toward the prison. Saying it is not yet Hot Rod's time, Maccadam shoves him out of the way. The beam hits and, with a massive explosion, Maccadam perishes. Inside Iaconus's mind, Windblade hears the War Titan rage at the loss of his last citizen, before noticing Croaton charging at Iaconus again. Investigating further, he finds the true form of the Scientist, a diminutive spider thing. The Scientist panics, summoning tendrils to try and immobilize Wheeljack, but the Autobot effortlessly overcomes them. Once Wheeljack brings his fist down on the Quintesson, the various bodies of the Scientist shut down in response to their controller's death.
