The new guy quickly learned of the rivalry between Starscream and the deceased Megatron, and became the star player of the Decepticons, consistently fulfilling objectives and defeating any foe he encountered. 			During the battle at Cairo, the Recruit had the privilege of meeting The Fallen himself, who had taken a shine to him for his efficiency. This concerned Megatron, who then got teased by Starscream. The Recruit proved himself once again by destroying Optimus, much to Megatron’s horror. Sure enough, The Fallen praised the Recruit for his performance and promoted him to be his new apprentice and general of his army on the spot, demoting Megatron to a common foot soldier in his place. The Recruit humbly accepted this honor, while Megatron fumed in despair at having lost his job… and Starscream schemed to one day usurp him, now that Megatron no longer had the position of leader.
