Inside the Nemesis, the Decepticons attempt - to no avail - to restrain Megatron, who flails about in a possessed madness, screaming for Dezimir, though the other Decepticons have no idea what he is talking about. Luckily for them, he comes out of his trance just as the Combaticons and Skywarp return from Hoover Dam with their collected Energon cubes. Megatron is pleased to see Skywarp return to the fold, and Skywarp informs his leader that Soundwave is being held captive by the Autobots. Megatron decides it's time to mount an attack on the Autobots and rescue their brother. Back on the Ark, Arcee has finished her transformation into Arcee Magnus, complete with a new, stronger form, though she finds the new body somewhat strange. Ultra Magnus says he will hold off on relinquishing the Magnus title completely until she is fully ready; however, Optimus asks that Ultra Magnus remain as Magnus alongside Arcee, citing historical precedence of the Autobots having more than one Magnus in times of war, and believing that Ultra Magnus' experience makes him too great an asset to lose. Ultra Magnus is reluctant, but agrees to at least consider it. Arcee presents herself to the rest of the Autobots, all of whom are wowed by her upgrade. Optimus informs the Autobots of their first mission: they are going to canvass the area in search of Decepticon activity. He then offers Arcee Magnus the chance to rally the troops. She orders the Autobots to transform, but before they can roll out, Optimus notices that Trailbreaker is missing.
