When [[Lio Convoy\|Convoy]]'s [[Maximal Reconnaissance Ship]] crashed on [[Gaia]], his injuries were so severe he could do nothing but lie waiting for the planet's atmosphere to corrode his body in the absence of a protective [[alternate mode]]. He would've died if not for the white lion, who took him on his back and ran with him to a [[Valley of Lions\|valley]] filled with crystalline [[Angolmois Energy]] that reinvigorated the [[Transformer]]. {{storylink\|White Lion, Run!}} During that time, the Angolmois Energy caused Convoy's [[Energon Matrix]] to [[Megastorm Reborn\|split into a second lifeform]], whom for one reason or another Convoy didn't see when he finally came to. The white lion was around, though, and Convoy scanned him as his [[beast mode]], becoming Lio Convoy.

	Lio Convoy moved out by the time [[Galvatron (BW)\|Galvatron]]'s [[Predacon (BW)\|Predacons]] reached Gaia {{storylink\|White Lion, Run!}} and the white lion took care of the lifeform he unknowingly left behind. {{storylink\|Enter Lio Junior}} The white lion's life should've been uneventful again, but Lio Convoy rescued [[Lio Convoy Unit\|his team]] from the Predacons [[The New Forces Arrive!\|while maintaining his beast mode]], which caused the Predacons to look for the curious white lion that had interfered with their kill. The [[Combatron (BW)\|Combatrons]] were specifically given this task and their instructions were to capture the white lion alive, although this did not work well with the [[Autoroller (BW)\|Autorollers]]' instruction to scorch the jungle in which the white lion lived. [[Starscream (BW)\|Starscream]] and [[BB (BW)\|BB]] found the white lion and accidentally injured his right front paw, but he did get away and amidst the burning trees was found by Lio Convoy and [[Apache]]. Aware that he was among friends, the exhausted white lion collapsed. Lio Convoy entrusted the animal to Apache, who treated the injured paw, while he himself went out to get captured by the Predacons to see what their intentions were and stop them.
