Battle for the Spark was the subline imprint for the final portion of the Beast Machines franchise.
Being the first subline imprint ever produced, this change was made to reflect the theme of the second season of the cartoon, in which the Maximals escalate their fight to reclaim the stolen sparks from Megatron and his army of Vehicons.
The toys sold under this banner each sported a new gimmick that unlocked some kind of action feature utilized by activating the toys' spark crystals.

Notes
[edit]- The Megatron Megabolt toy was originally intended as the Beast Era Megatron character and supposed to be released under the Beast Machines toy line's "Battle for the Spark" subline imprint, making it as far as the sample packaging stage.[1] However, ultimately that release was shelved, and the figure was later released under the 2001 Robots in Disguise toy line instead.
