The Azazel asteroid belt is an asteroid belt somewhere in space. It is apparently in a part of space claimed by the Autobots on the edge of their territory, but outside of a single space bridge little of interest exists here. Certainly not anything that could restart the Great War or anything...

[edit]To hide the AllSpark from the Decepticons, the Autobots threw it through a space bridge to a random location. It ended up on an asteroid in the Azazel asteroid belt.
Four million years later, Optimus Prime's crew was repairing space bridge RA-678 when they discovered the AllSpark. Soon after, the Nemesis arrived, its Decepticon crew seeking the AllSpark. In the chaos, the AllSpark activated the space bridge, which transported the Autobot ship Orion to Earth. Transform and Roll Out

[edit]- In Jewish tradition, Azazel refers to a desolate location to which the ritual scapegoats were sent during Yom Kippur. The goats were said to take the sins of the Jewish people with them. There's an obvious parallel with how the Allspark was sent away from Cybertron, taking the reason for the Great War with it.
