Participation in the Fandom

[edit]

Like fellow story editor Larry DiTillio, Mr. Forward took to posting to newsgroup alt.toys.transformers, then the central hub of online fandom. Though he was not as frequent a poster as Mr. DiTillio, Mr. Forward's posts would likewise reveal tidbits of backstory explanation, insight into the creative process behind the show, and some of the real-world intrusions into the writers' would-be plans.

Unfortunately for the fans, Mr. Forward was compelled to shut down his account in mid-1998, in the wake of an individual posting fake messages in his name on a web site.<ref>A last post from Beastbob1.</ref>

Convention appearances

Notes

[edit]
  • Forward was interviewed as a special feature for Kid Rhino's Beast Wars The Complete First Season DVD set.
  • He was also featured on a "Soul of Beast Wars" interview with Larry DiTillio and Ben Yee on Madman Entertainment's Beast Wars season 2 box set, and provided audio commentary on various episodes in all three season box sets.
  • Bob's favourite character in Beast Wars is of course Dinobot.
