[edit]

At least one broadcast tower for the Grid was located in the Decagon in Iacon. When the Decepticons attacked Iacon, they took control of the Decagon, shutting down the Grid and putting all communication over the airwaves under Decepticon control. This forced all Autobots communications to be handled by messengers like Bumblebee. Optimus and a group of Autobots successfully managed to reclaim the tower after defeating Starscream.
