Hi, I have a Wikipedia account, I'm also active as Alienbot on TFW2005. Finally saw ROTF on June 28, :D
Hi, my name is Chris, and I wrote several Transformers-related articles during my time at Multiversity Comics.

Before time began, there was the All Spark Cube. The energon radiation given off by it liquified on the planet Cybertron and evolved into Autonomous robotic organisms. A powerful race known as the Primes emerged. They sought more ways to create energon, determining highly similar characteristics in solar energy. They arrived on a planet called Earth, and built a solar harvester. However, six of the Primes took pity on the carbon-based lifeforms on the planet, particularly seeing potential for a similar emotional and intellectual range in a bipedal primates later known as humans.

One Prime however, did not care and was ready to activate the device: civil war erupted, and the Matrix of Leadership created to activate the harvester was stolen from the Fallen Prime. The others sacrificed their bodies to form a Tomb that would hide the Matrix. The Fallen searched the universe for the Matrix and also sent Seekers to continue checking Earth. The Fallen crashed his ship and became old and withered, while the descendants of the other Primes established a vast and powerful Empire from Cybertron.
I'm still writing about Transformers FWIW:

The current Prime, Optimus, became good friends with Lord Megatron, to the point he considered him a brother. However, Megatron discovered the Fallen and was enraptured by his martial philosophies. He also learned the All Spark could create life - albeit crude, vicious life - with concentrated energon blasts, and saw the sacred relic as his means to raise an army that would make Cybertron a volatile force to be reckoned with. As Megatron's Decepticons launched a war to claim the Cube, the capital world was ruined and the war spread across the universe, until the All Spark itself was lost.

One fateful day, Megatron's search made him crash in the Arctic. In 1897, explorer Archibald Witwicky found the entombed body, rendered immovable by the temperature, and Megatron blasted the coordinates to the Cube's location in the Colorado River onto his glasses. Witwicky had visions of Cyberglyphics and went insane. The US government investigated Witwicky's story, claiming property of Megatron, and also discovered the Cube in Colorado. President Hoover founded Sector Seven, which built the Hoover Dam to mask the Cube's energy, and Megatron was transported there. By 2003, Starscream and his unit had followed Megatron's trail to Mars, and arrived on Earth in 2007.
And I had work published about Transformers before that:

The United States military allied with the Autobots during the attack in Mission City, and they joined with other national miltaries in a group called NEST to replace S7. It was agreed to continue official government word on the Transformers' existence silent. The All Spark had been destroyed, and a remaining fragment was kept at Diego Garcia, while Megatron was buried in the Laurentian Abyss. Starscream returned to his ship, tending to the Fallen while trying to breed the next generation of Decepticons, who were dying without an energon source. More Decepticons were sent to Earth and intercepted and killed by NEST.

* Rodimus Prime, further preventing the implication a Prime is simply the best because he's a reincarnation

* Nova Prime, although like Zeta and Sentinel, I still see him as an interim Prime (also Nova would lie about being the Thirteenth)

* Solomus/Tyrest, who is a member of the Thirteen in the pre-Aligned continuities now. However, I think it'd be more interesting to treat the Guiding Hand as Primus's fellow Light Gods.

* Omega Supreme, who's certainly old enough, though like Optimus, the character deserves better than the baggage of being an original Prime.

* Last Autobot, another official member of the pre-Aligned Thirteen, who's basically what Omega should've been. I think it would make a lot of sense, if only because it would completely explain his absence.

I wrote this before I read the notes on the Thirteenth's page, where it becomes apparent Hasbro simply forgot about or weren't aware of the Last Autobot when creating the group, so he may've been them if they had been.

In any case, it would be nice if AOTP (or the next toy line) included alternate Primes, including a rerelease of the transforming Ark as the Last Autobot, as well as the Legacy version of Alpha Trion.

Surprisingly many thoughts about the Thirteen

[edit]

I like the Thirteen, who've got me back into collecting the toys, as I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan; it's nice Transformers effectively has its own take on the Valar, and Megatronus and Solus Prime have huge Sauron/Galadriel energy. (Although I still imagine them being voiced by Virginia Madsen, and the late, great Tony Todd.)

I used to think Omegatron should've have been the name of the Fallen, until I saw Transformers One, and realised it's much easier for a kid to understand how Megatron would be derived from Megatronus.

Like many, I'm not a fan of the idea of Optimus being the Thirteenth Prime. I think IDW '05 did well with the concept, but given how different their cosmology was, it really was an exception that proves the rule. (While on the subject: I think it would've absolutely made sense for the Quintessons to be the Transformers' creators in that continuity, especially with how it skewed older.) If I were overseeing my own Transformers series, I'd pick between the following instead:

 • Rung, bringing them full circle
 • Rodimus Prime, further preventing the implication a Prime is simply the best because he's a reincarnation
 • Nova Prime, although like Zeta and Sentinel, I still see him as an interim Prime (also Nova would lie about being the Thirteenth)
 • Solomus/Tyrest, who is a member of the Thirteen in the pre-Aligned continuities now. However, I think it'd be more interesting to treat the Guiding Hand as Primus's fellow Light Gods.
 • Omega Supreme, who's certainly old enough, though like Optimus, the character deserves better than the baggage of being an original Prime.
 • Last Autobot, another official member of the pre-Aligned Thirteen, who's basically what Omega should've been.
