Both sides begin working on triangulating the Requiem Blaster's location, and discuss what they will do once they find it.

Synopsis

[edit]

"The Saga's Latest" (Part 1)

[edit]

The Autobots use their Star Sabres to triangulate the location of the Requiem Blaster. Windblade, Overload, and Gears worry about the interference of the Sentius Twins, any or all of the three Megatrons, and Bomb-Burst, but Laser Optimus assures them that they'll deal with them when it comes time to. The other Optimus adds that there's a good chance they can make at least two of them cancel each other out with a little manipulation.

"The Saga's Latest" (Part 2)

[edit]

Armada Megatron has his troops guess what their two problems are. Armada Wheeljack names one as Bomb-Burst and his Dark Star Sabre, and Breakdown Prime lists off all their other enemies trying to determine the other. Their other issue, however, is not a bot, but rather an object: the Requiem Blaster. The group is naturally confused, but Megatron explains that, while it was indeed destroyed, it is reforming as they speak, and will reappear soon. While this may seem good, since it will allow the Decepticons to acquire a Trinity of Artifacts, there is a downside: once they have this Trinity, all the "interested parties" Breakdown just named will come after them. The solution? Continue destroying and re-tracking down the Requiem Blaster.

Quotes

[edit]

"What about our other, no-character-space, US-dictionary-friendly, Star Saber?"

Simon Furman Scavenger acknowledges some spelling differences.

Gameplay

[edit]

This event was an individual totaliser, meaning players earned points and unlocked prizes on their own as opposed to with their Alliance. The top prize was 20000 Megatronus Prime Spark.

Notes

[edit]
  • As with the past few months of events, the name of the dialogue differs from that of the event, instead being called "The Saga's Latest."

Continuity notes

[edit]
  • Despite the whole Air Defense Mini-Con Team having debuted in-game and in-story several months prior, and Jetstorm and all three members of the Aerial Extermination Mini-Con Team having appeared with speaking lines in the dialogues, this event marks the first time we see Runway get any lines in the main story (as they all appear in their introductory unlock dialogue). Sonar remains the odd one out...
  • Pairs of Artifacts of the Primes were previously used by both sides to locate the Requiem Blaster in "When Realms Collide" and "Dome Sweet Dome." Here, it is revealed that this because any three relics have the ability to form an ultra-powerful Trinity.
  • As is per usual every couple of dialogues, all the other parties spectating the current are mentioned when the bots consider who else will be looking for the Requiem Blaster: the Sentius Twins, Bomb-Burst, Vector Prime, and Nova Prime (all of whom were last seen in "Prime Relics").
  • The Artifacts being indestructible was revealed in the previous dialogue.

Transformers references

[edit]
  • The Trinity concept may be a callback to Armada and its three Mini-Con weapons, the Star Saber, Skyboom Shield, and Requiem Blaster (the other one), two of which are present in this game (in what was initially a very Armada-centric storyline).

Real-world references

[edit]
  • The idea of a Trinity of relics also echoes the real-world religious concept of a holy triad.
