Discmaster is a martial combat style using explosive discs in combat, usually in both robot and alternate forms. Discs may be rigged to explode at the time and place of the master's choosing.
The only known Discmasters are Mantis and Autolauncher.[1]
Notes
[edit]- The term "Discmaster" never existed in the Japanese version of the Beast Wars franchise. The term is derived from a turn of phrase found in Autolauncher's Japanese bio card.[2] Enban tsukai (円盤使い) roughly means "discus user"[3] in English. The term was rendered as "discmaster" (in quotes) when the bio card was fan-translated in the late '90s/early '00s, evidently taking a cue from the various Masters of the original toyline. The term then stuck around in the English-speaking fandom until it was canonized in the Beast Wars Sourcebook.
