Vincent D'Alleva, employed by Hasbro from early 1989 to mid 1999, served as Product Manager, Marketing Director, Team Leader, and finally Vice President of Hasbro before his departure. In those ten years, he dealt with the Transformers brand three times. His first involvement was at the tail end of G1, working on the Micromasters beyond the initial series, the K-Mart exclusive Classic Pretenders, and the Action Masters. He was next responsible for the creation of a little line called Beast Wars, with his final Transformers act being the creation of the Machine Wars line. He's kind of a big deal... that no one knows about.
Additionally, D'Alleva had longstanding involvement in Hasbro's G.I. Joe brand from 1990 to 1994, the line's 30th anniversary, and as a marketing manager for Hasbro Direct pushed for its (brief) return in 1997. After his departure from Hasbro, he also worked for other companies such as Playmates, managing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand.
Notes
[edit]- Vincent D'Alleva has the ignominious honor of being one of G.I. Joe's more ridiculous villains.
- Adding insult to injury, his name is now permanently linked to one of the more "unique" releases in G. I. Joe history.
- There's a pretty good chance he's also the "Vinny" in "Vinny's Pizza" emblazoned on one side of the unreleased Generation 2 Go-Bot Rumble figure.
