The name or term "Scavenger" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Scavenger (disambiguation).
Scavenger is a Vehicon from the Beast Machines portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
At least I don't have a bunch of alternate heads lying around.

As a Demolition Drone, Scavenger loves to smash stuff, and he's quite good at it. Falling under the command of Tankor, Scavenger exists for a single purpose—destruction. It doesn't matter if it's a building or a Maximal, he'll roll right through it, relying on his heavy armor to protect himself. Anything he can't knock over, run over, tear apart with his clawed hands, or crush in his "Destruction Vehicle" mode jaws, he attacks using electric currents produced from the galva-conductors on his back. Or blasts with missiles. Or perforates with cannon fire. Or all three. At once. In the FACE.[1]

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Scavenger was a member of the Kospegos, serving as muscle for Thunderhoof along with Terrorsaur. Unfortunately for Thunderhoof, they got a better offer from Gnashteeth. Once their new boss disposed of the old boss, the remaining Kospegos became known as the Darksyders, and Scavenger served under the renamed Megatron. Identity Politics

Scavenger and fellow Predacon Immorticon joined with the kindred malcontent Maximals Blackarachnia and Nightscream to escape their dystopian Cybertron. They activated an experimental transwarp device, but found themselves in Axiom Nexus instead. After processing, they were placed in the care of Alpha Trion. He convinced him that the Transcendent Technomorphs who ruled the city were little different from the Builders under whose yoke they had chafed. Under the direction of Alpha Trion, his agent Topspin transferred Scavenger's spark from his Lowtech body into that of his Transcendent Technomorph counterpart, with the authorities of Axiom Nexus none the wiser. "TransTech" Blackarachnia's profile in Club magazine #25

Scavenger joined in the raid on Shockwave's laboratory in the hopes of rescuing Breakaway. Transcendent: Part 5 Scavenger and his comrades successfully stormed into Shockwave's inner sanctum, where they came face-to-face with the formidable Megatron. Though his fellow conspirator Immorticon was destroyed by Megatron, Scavenger managed to escape off-world. Transcendent: Part 6

Upon arrival in Alpha Trion's home universe, Scavenger stood idle while the rest of Alpha Trion's loyalists began securing equipment for travel, as their materialization had surely been detected by one faction or another. Reunification: Part 1

Beast Machines

[edit]
But what I really want to do is travel—see the world.
  • Scavenger (Basic, 2000)
Part of the first wave of Beast Machines Basics, Scavenger transforms into a Cybertronic treaded "Destruction Vehicle". A plunger mechanism on the back of the "shovel" opens and closes the vehicle's crusher jaw. Its spark crystal is located in the "control tower" behind a flip-down panel.
This mold was also used to make Robots in Disguise Scavenger.

Notes

[edit]
  • Although the early Beast Machines concept art for Scavenger (pictured at the top of this article) is very similar to the final product, his original color layout implies a lot more paint applications in his crane-neck area.
  • Scavenger had the preliminary name of Destructicon.[2]
  • From what can be inferred by his original toy bio and all of his Beast Machines-related fictional appearances, Scavenger seems to be the only Vehicon who isn't a general.
