Synopsis
[edit]As Starscream's ghost faces down Megatron he reveals his origin and the depths of his scheme. He isn't the Starscream Megatron knows, but actually the Starscream from another universe who was killed by the Galvatron of that universe. He has traveled to this universe in order to possess this Starscream, thereby allowing him to live again. Oh, and dethrone Megatron, but that's sort of a given.
Astrotrain and Onslaught attempt to seize Starscream's ghost, only for Onslaught to become possessed. Starscream then uses Onslaught's body to dispatch with Astrotrain and attack Megatron.
Outside Decepticon headquarters, Ironhide asks Mirage just why they're risking their necks to save Megatron from Starscream. Mirage informs him that if Starscream defeats Megatron, they'll be next in line. Suddenly, a dimensional gateway to Starscream's home universe opens up, allowing Autobot Quantum Operatives Skids and Screech to leap through. They intend to "bust" Starscream's "ghost".
To gain the advantage, Mirage projects Starscream's worst fear before his very eyes: Galvatron. Horrified, Starscream's ghost evacuates Onslaught's body and flies screaming back to his home universe through the gateway. Skids remarks with amusement that they managed to spook a ghost, while Screech is relieved that Starscream has been forced back to "his old haunts".

Notes
[edit]- The identity of the spectral Starscream floating around the Henkei! Henkei! universe is at last revealed. This is the ghost of the Starscream from the (presumably Japanese) Generation 1 cartoon universe, who first appeared as a spook in "Starscream's Ghost" and has popped up just about everywhere since then.
- Starscream was, of course, killed by Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie.
- This comic is a bit of an anomaly so far as Japanese Transformers fiction goes. Million Publishing hired two famed Western Transformers talents, Simon Furman and Guido Guidi, as opposed to dipping into their homegrown pool of Japanese talent. An oddity, considering this comic was created strictly for the Japanese market with no intention of reaching Western shores.
- Moreover, the green Skids featured in this story is the Skids from the Japanese dub of the Generation 1 cartoon.
- Also of note, this comic was published in both Japanese and English language formats within this volume of Generations 2009. This would normally seem unlikely, but it is reasonable given the authors involved.
