Renegade Rhetoric
The Guardians had just succeeded in putting the Renegade Revolt down, thanks to heroes like Cy-Kill and Leader-1, but Cy-Kill ripped everything wide open again when he decided to restart the Renegades and seize power! Over the years, they had a good many adventures which you should really go check out. At these links! One time, the Guardians had to put on Kafka's Metamorphosis to stop the Renegades' Pirates of Penzance! Ask Vector Prime#Renegade Rhetoric Renegade Rhetoric

As Vector Prime guards space and time in his universe(s), so too does Tic Toc guard the Gargents.

The Guardians of Gargent 087.0 Kappa mistook the six Autobot Spy Changers of Primax 085.0 Eta to be Renegades. Luckily, Prowl made contact with Leader-1 to explain the truth of the situation, and a secret Spy Changer-Guardian alliance was forged. After Hoist destroyed the Renegade bases which were threatening the Spy Changers' homeworld, the Autobots and Guardians worked together to drive off the Renegades. Optimus Prime and Leader-1 shook hands as a symbol of the transdimensional friendship, and the Spy Changers returned to their home reality. Ask Vector Prime#Facebook Later, the Autobots would return the favour: when Earth was sealed under a Renegade Embargo Field, the remaining Guardians Tri-Trak and Nick Burns  used the Reality Beacon to call the Autobots for help. Ask Vector Prime#Facebook

| Leader-1Leader-1
| F-15 fighter jet
| Leader-1 is the commander of the heroic Guardians. Once upon a time, he defended Gobotron alongside his old friend Cy-Kill, but a schism tore the two allies apart, forcing Cy-Kill to reluctantly take up arms against the evil Renegades.  Ever the do-gooder, he's had plenty of adventures on Gobotron, Quartex, and Earth, battling against Cy-Kill's wacky, overly-convoluted schemes. In one notable adventure, he temporarily wound up joining the Renegades after losing his memory.
| On ancient, pre-cataclysm Gobotron, Leader-1 was a humble archivist named Luther Unum. Hmmm.

|-
| ScooterScooter
| Scooter (duh)
| The smallest and kid-friendliest member of the Guardians, Scooter would much rather tinker with computers than fight the Renegades. Although he has no weapons, his hologram projector lets him create illusions, and he's befriended the UNECOM cadet Nick, who's helped him to overcome some his cowardice. Always timid, he had one particularly scary adventure where he thought he was turning into a Were-GoBot! Another time, he dressed up as Santa Claus and helped distribute Christmas presents.
| Scooter has a counterpart in Axiom Nexus. He died. Megatron once used a "space scooter" that homaged his alternate mode. The Dying of the Light Part 3: Your Fierce Tears

|-
| TurboTurbo
| Gobotronic sports car
| Leader-1's second-in-command, the gruff Turbo is a no-nonsense kind of 'bot... although he'll gladly throw his own life on the line to protect smaller Guardians or innocent lifeforms from Renegade tyranny. Since coming to Earth, he's befriended the UNECOM cadet named AJ Foster. In one embarrassing incident, he was manipulated by the Renegades into arresting a group of Quartex diplomats. In another escapade, he and Crasher time-travelled to the year 2085, where the GoBots were planning to abandon their old robotic bodies in favour of organic ones.
| Turbo plays a mean game of basketball.

|-
| Path FinderPath Finder
| Gobotronic starship
| A confident Guardian with a space-worthy alternate mode. Path Finder put her capabilities to good use defending a UNECOM outpost on Mercury against a Renegade incursion. She was ultimately overwhelmed by Twin Spin, Pincher, and Blades.
| One of the "G1 GoBots" released by TakaraTomy.

|-
| Man-O-WarMan-O-War
| Iowa-class Battleship <br> Hovercraft (Transformer disguise)
| Man-O-War is a legendary veteran and one of the earliest Guardians to sign up, rising up the ranks fast out of necessity. He's also a total dick. Treds was in his platoon and routinely berated for 'slacking'.
| His Cybertronian form is based on a prototype of Seaspray.

|-
| Rest-QRest-Q
| Ambulance
| As the Guardian's main medic, Rest-Q was dispatched to Earth after Leader-1 was critically injured and in a coma. He helped transmit some of Leader-1's dreams onto the screen, where Rest-Q and the other Guardians offered a running commentary on past events.

| Road RangerRoad Ranger
| Articulated truck
| Road Ranger is good friends with Small Foot. He took part in a notable battle against the Renegade combiner Monsterous, using a Power Suit to form Courageous.
| One of the "G1 GoBots" released by TakaraTomy.
| Cartoon profile<br>
[Toy review
|-
| Small FootSmall Foot
| Toyota Hilux
| Small Foot is a cheerful idealist. Her inquisitive attitude and can-do spirit has helped her through all sorts of predicaments. Notably, she and several other female Go-Bots took part in a contest on the planet Athena, where she raced against Crasher. On another mission to New Earth, she was turned into a human along with a group of Guardians and Renegades.
| One of the "G1 GoBots" released by TakaraTomy.

|-
| TredsTreds
| M1 Abrams
| Along with some other Guardians, Treds competed in a high-stakes game of basketball against the Renegades. Treds and the others managed to best Cy-Kill's crooked game, thanks to the coaching of the Harlem Globetrotters.
| One of the "G1 GoBots" released by TakaraTomy.

| AceAce
| P-51 Mustang
| Ace and some other Guardians battled against Optimus Prime and his team of dimension-hopping Spy Changers, assuming them to be Renegades. The Guardians had the upper hand until Cy-Kill intervened, forcing Ace and the others to retreat.

| ApolloApollo
| Saturn V rocket
| Apollo was one of a six-bot crew returning to Gobotron after a lengthy scouting expedition, one launched shortly after the Gobot conversion process was implemented. Scorp and Crain Brain, flying in Space Hawk interceptors, observed them. Cy-Kill subsequently captured all of the crew except Apollo, who escaped to warn the Guardians. Apollo returned with Leader-1's team to rescue the scouts, but Vain Train and Double Decker chose to defect.
|Apollo is heavily implied to be a repurpose of a Machine Robo toy that never made it into the GoBots line, as are the rest of the colonists.

|-
| BeamerBeamer
| BMW M1
| Beamer is a recent graduate of the Guardian Academy. He participated in an important attack on the Renegade flagship, Rogue Star, but retreated after Cy-Kill and a large number of new Renegade recruits returned from another dimension to turned the tide. Beamer, Sky Fly, and Guide Star were attacked by Odd Ball, Breez, and Pow Wow and eventually forced to flee.
| Beamer, Sky Fly, Guide Star, Odd Ball, Breez, and Pow Wow are the six Wendy's-exclusive GoBots toys.

|-
| Bent WingBent Wing
| Fighter plane
|Bent Wing is a rebellious young Guardian who studied at the Academy under Major Mo. Although her unit were framed by Bladez and the Master Renegade, the "Robo Rebels" were able to clear their name and graduate with distinction. After an attack on Gobotron's scientific moon, the Robo Rebels temporarily developed a biter rivalry with the Guardian Secret Riders.
|Though she had a toy, Bent Wing did not appear in the Challenge of the GoBots cartoon. She appears only in stories from "Renegade Rhetoric."
|Toy review
|-
| BlasterBlaster
| M33 Missile tank
| Blaster, along with Hans-Cuff and Flip Top, attempted to prevent a Cy-Kill from escaping Gobotron's prison moon. They failed. Along with several other Guardians and Renegades, he was taken prisoner by alien Overseers, but managed to escape.
| Blaster's failure to keep Cy-Kill incarcerated is lifted from the Challenge of the Gobots five-parter, "The Gobotron Saga". When a GoBots universe was merged with a G1 universe, Blaster took the place of Blaster, because of course he did.

|-
| BulletBullet
| Series-0 Shinkansen train
| Bullet is the older brother of Vain Train and picked on him. The two were on a lengthy scouting expedition soon after the GoBots were created and were captured by Renegades when they came home. Before they were rescued, Cy-Kill evilly used a mind control device to exacerbated Bullet's tendency to belittle Vain Train, which made his bro go Renegade!
| Bullet and his chums are repurposed Machine Robo toys which never made it into the GoBots line. His sibling rivalry is a nod to the Trainbots Shouki and Yukikaze, with Bullet being Shouki.

|-
| BullseyeBullseye
| B-1 Lancer
| Bullseye, serving on Command Center 6, eventually captured Cy-Kill near Galleon... not knowing the villain was taking a dive! Later, during a battle with Renegade clones, Bullseye ironically freed Cy-Kill from a cell before being shot down by the clone Cy-Kill Prime.
| In the cartoon, Bullseye is historically important: the one man in Cy-Kill's Guardian team that didn't go Renegade and instead warned the Guardian Council.<br>His first "Renegade Rhetoric" story fills in the gap between the Challenge 5-part pilot and "The Gobotron Saga".

| CourageousCourageous
| Combiner
| Courageous is the Last Engineer's newest creation, a Power Warrior formed of four Guardians in Powersuits and his own spaceship (also called Courageous). It served as a recurring trump card for the Guardians! An irked Cy-Kill would try to create his own combiners to match it, with two incarnations of Puzzler, the knock-off Grungy, and Monsterous; this would eventually culminate in the Combiner Wars on Quartex, with Courageous and Fossilsaurus proving a winning team! In the 'amalgam' timeline, Courageous replaced the Dinobots in engaging Devastator at Autobot City.
| Any four Guardians can use the Power Suits. The Renegade's Grungy is a repaint of Courageous.

| DartDart
| Honda VF1000R
| Dart is just like Winston Churchill, in that he's ratted and reratted: he was once a Guardian, then was the first man with Fitor to join Cy-Kill's new Renegades, then rejoined the Guardians after a bad experience with Gunnyr.

| Dive-DiveDive-Dive
| Los Angeles class nuclear submarine (ooer!)
| Dive-Dive's alternate mode is utterly useless on Gobotron, but on Earth he serves as a talented underwater specialist. Without Dive-Dive, Earth might never have stood a chance against a rebellion of sentient cetaceans. Another time, he helped the Guardians against the evil prate Greenbeard and his Renegade allies.
| His toy has the same pennant number (723) as the USS Oklahoma Bay.

| Bulldozer (obviously)
| Dozer served on Command Center 14 when Cy-Kill's Thruster was found off Galleon. Commander Center 14 was blown up and Dozer also blown up, by booby trap, taking Cy-Kill in (and he'd wanted to be locked up for a scheme anyway!).

The name or term "Guardian" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Guardian (disambiguation).
Get outta here, Transformers! This is OUR wiki now!

The peacekeeping force on the then-organic world of Gobotron, the Guardians were forced into a civil war when the rebels known as the Renegades revolted.

Long after the population had been converted into cyborg chassis called GoBots to protect their organic brains, and after the original conflict and organic origins of Gobotron had passed into myth, the Guardian Leader-1 would try to seek out the Last Engineer in order to save the life of his friend Turbo, and fight the re-awakened Renegades led by Cy-Kill.

New Guardians are trained at the Guardian Academy, which has spawned several close-knit gangs of young bucks, including the Secret Riders and Robo Rebels.

The Guardians are allies of UNECOM, the UNited Earth COMmand, on Earth; the goodie Rock Lords of Quartex, led by Boulder; and when they get involved with dimensional hijinks, they ally with the Autobots! Together, they have repulsed many, many overly-complicated schemes devised by Cy-Kill and his Renegades.

Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

As Vector Prime guards space and time in his universe(s), so too does Tic Toc guard the Gargents. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/21

Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/30 Later, the Autobots would return the favor: when Earth was sealed under a Renegade Embargo Field, the remaining Guardians Tri-Trak and Nick Burns used the Reality Beacon to call the Autobots for help. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/30

When Sideways and Gong tampered with the Omega Locks of both a Gargent reality and a Primax reality, tuning the latter into an 'amalgam' reality, the Guardians first replaced the Autobots of 2005 and then, in the third warp, were in an alliance with the Autobots but with figures like Major Mo in place of Ultra Magnus. As part of his efforts to repair spacetime, Vec-Tor enlisted the aid of the Guardians in the Gargent reality, though unfortunately Sideways was able to outwit them and escape custody.
