They discovered it contained a teleport gate, a mechanism for retrieving beings and objects from anywhere in time and space, providing the proper coordinates were input. After an initial clash, the Predacons drove the Maximals away from the gate, but Lio Junior was able to secure the activation key. However, Galvatron soon approached Junior and manipulated him into turning over the key.
