Optimus Prime arrives on Paradron to refuel, but is confronted by a lone guard.

Synopsis
Synopsis
Optimus Prime arrives on the planet Paradron to refuel on Energon, but is denied by a Gyronian Sentry and his pet Guard Cats. Optimus explains that he and the Autobots have been on Earth for the past few years defending the human race from Megatron and the Decepticons, and that he had recently left Earth to return to Cybertron and confront his Creators.
On the planet of Paradron, Optimus Prime is set upon by vicious guard cats when trying to access a vault containing energon. The beasts stand down when their master arrives: a long-lost Gyronian Sentry, who explains that the energon Prime seeks is in fact the very last reservoir of the substance on the entire planet. Hoping to convince the Sentry of his good intentions, Optimus explains what has brought him to Paradron, detailing the Autobots' battles to defend Earth from the Decepticons, and how he has now set out to find his creator and restore Cybertron, so that humanity can be left in peace. Needing to refuel in order to continue the journey, he has come to Paradron, which he had always known as a world rich in energon.

Sentry is not impressed, demanding a passcode. The gate to the Energon has a hidden passcode written in Old Cybertronian, but when Optimus tries using a decoder, the gate does not open. Prime and Sentry's egos clash, causing a fight to break out. They chase each other around Mad-Max style for a bit until Optimus reclaims the decoder.
The Gyronian Sentry is uninterested in Prime's story—either the Autobot leader has the passcode for the energon vault, or he's an unwanted interloper who needs to be eliminated. Optimus recognises that the passcode is inscribed upon the vault door in Old Cybertronian, and while he does not speak the ancient language himself, his status as Prime means he possesses a decoder device. Prime speaks the code aloud in Old Cybertronian, but the door doesn't budge. The Sentry suggests the decoder may need to be inserted into a socket on the door, and insists that he do this himself, claiming that Optimus could have turned traitor. Prime insists that this is impossible, prompting the irate Sentry to sic his guard cats on the Autobot once more.

Optimus tries directly inserting the decoder into the door and says the passcode: "In Primus We Trust". The door opens and Optimus drinks half of the Energon, giving the other half to Sentry. Optimus tells Sentry he did a good job, relieves him of his guard duties, and flies off into space.
While Optimus fends off the beasts, the Sentry grabs the decoder, and it becomes clear that the lonely warrior seeks to take the vault's energon for himself, so that he can leave Paradron and end his eternal vigil. Transforming to vehicle mode, Prime barrels away from the guard cats, but the Gyronian Sentry converts to his own chariot mode and gives chase, pulled by his pet creatures. The two engage in a high-speed duel, the Sentry ignoring Prime's pleas that they can share the energon and leave together. Unwilling to allow more of the conflict that has claimed so many worlds, Optimus abruptly ends the confrontation by shifting to robot mode and slicing the connection between his opponent and his guard cats, sending the Sentry tumbling to the ground.

The Mission Continues...
Reclaiming the decoder, Prime returns to the vault door, even as the defeated Sentry tries to convince Optimus to abandon his mission to Cybertron and settle down on Paradron. Inserting the decoder into the door, Prime again speaks the passcode, this time giving its translation: "in Primus we trust". The vault opens, revealing a solitary energon cube, from which Optimus drinks just enough to continue his journey in stasis mode. As he promised, he offers the rest to the Gyronian Sentry, thanking the weary warrior for his millennia of service, however misguided his recent actions may have been. Telling the Sentry to go find the rest that he deserves, Optimus rockets back into space, resolving to complete his mission and bring all his people home.

Optimus Prime arrives on Paradron to refuel, but is confronted by a lone guard.

Synopsis

[edit]

Quotes

[edit]

"Surprise! Here I am, guardian of the last remaining reservoir of energon on the late, great planet Paradron."

—The Gyronian Sentry introduces himself

"It did not work. The gate is not opening."
"See that hole? Maybe you need to insert the decoder. Give it to me, I'll show you."
"Am I not capable?"
"How do I know you're not a Decepticon in disguise? Even the Autobot-in-chief can be turned."
"I am Optimus Prime. I cannot be brain-washed."
"Stubborn and self-righteous. You're definitely a Prime. Guard cats, attack! Get me that decoder!"

Optimus Prime indulges in some irony while the Sentry responds with violence.
