This article is about the Waruder. For the Dreadnok, see Ripper (G.I. Joe).
Rippers are Waruder troops from the Diaclone continuity family.
Rippin' in blue, into you!

Among the Waruder troops are the Ripper pilots, who control the venomous Parasite marauder drones. As the drones are bereft of any intelligence whatsoever, it lies to the Rippers to utilize the Parasites in pursuit of the Waruder hive's goal: Consumption of everything.

Rippers can convert between two modes similar to their host shells', and, in times of distress, change into weapon modes that the shells can wield. However, this isn't without its own risk—any case of butterfingers will cause the Ripper's control over their Parasite to instantly cease.

TransTech

[edit]

Due to quantum instability, a number of Waruder troops were transported to Axiom Nexus's distant past when they migrated to Nexus 208.0 Epsilon. They formed a hive, and spent the next 20,000 years undisturbed, evolving and building an elaborate hive deep underground. Ripper-type soldiers helped the hive expand and feed, and defended it against intruders. When C-81 and his band of wanted criminals stumbled across the Waruder hive while on the run from the law, several Ripper soldiers deployed their Parasite mechs in response to another Waruder's distress signal. Cybertron's most wanted found themselves fleeing from the Waruders as more and more reinforcements came flooding in. Even as more intruders came about, the Waruders were on the verge of victory until C-81 managed to grab hold of their leader, and forced him to negotiate. The Waruders later migrated off-Cybertron peacefully via an interuniversal gate. On the other side, they would find a deserted Cybertron where they could feed to their hearts' content undisturbed. Timelines

[edit]
Timelines Ripper is a blue and gray redeco of the Generations Mini-Con-sized Waspinator sculpt that originally came with the Legends Class Starscream mold. Ripper can transform into a wasp, a Waruder pilot with 3 mm-compatible hands, and a gun with a 5 mm handle. He has an autotransformation feature that folds up his wings when his gun barrel is extended.
Ripper was available in a four-pack at BotCon 2015 that included the four Waruder mechs (Paralyzer, Parasite, Storm Rider, and Mudfighter) as well as the three other Waruder troops (Buzzer, Thrasher, and Crusher). Ripper is nominally associated with Parasite, which can hold Ripper's weapon mode.
This toy was repurposed as NAVI-Q.

Notes

[edit]
  • Ripper is based on the Waruder pilots that were sold with various sets in the Diaclone line.
  • Like all the non-individual Waruder pilots, the Rippers are named after one of the Dreadnoks from G.I. Joe.
