- The Trion is an Autobot starship from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Trion is a fine ship, top of the line in the Autobot fleet, and bristling with weaponry, advanced shield generators, and sophisticated interfaces that allow its crew to jack into the ship itself for maximum maneuverability. This gem of Cybertronian craftsmanship was deemed at its most useful in the hands of a sweaty-toothed madman and his hand-picked crew.

The crew did, however, catch a distress signal from Hot Rod, and went to save him from Decepticon attack. As the Decepticons fled aboard the Torment, the Autobots followed in the Trion. Lost & Found
The chase ended with the Trion led into a Decepticon ambush and rendered helpless as a result of its command codes having been sold to the enemy by an Autobot traitor. Outnumbered and outgunned, it was forced to crash-land on the desolate and abandoned planet Cybertron. Once there it was largely inoperable, used as a base of operations by Kup's crew as they searched for aid. All Hail Megatron #5 Roadbuster and Wheeljack took one of its cannons to use as a defensive turret against the Insecticon swarm. All Hail Megatron #10
Several years after Kup's crew left Cybertron by other means, a resurrected Ironhide came across the wreckage of the Trion. After taking out a few Insecticon swarm members living in it, he found that the ship still had energy left... energy he could use in his fight against the swarm. Ironhide activated what remained of the Trion's weapons and turned them on the Insecticons, successfully destroying dozens of the creatures. Unfortunately, many of them dodged the ship's weapons fire and made it inside to Ironhide, who responded by activating the self-destruct system. As Ironhide ejected to safety, the Trion disappeared in a mighty explosion that served to destroy a large chunk of the swarm. Any Old Iron
