There are also assorted other gimmick toys that don't fit into these play patterns, or that are part of preexisting gimmick lines.

However, among these “misfit” figures, the unofficial but obvious flagship figure of the mass-retail line sits: The large, articulated, rather complicated and gimmick filled “Power Charge Bumblebee”. Compared to most other of the main line releases for the film, the Power Charge figure has more paint, articulation, complexity, and stability than its Energon Igniter counterparts.

The "Energon Igniters" line is primarily focused on interaction with "energon cores" that unlock play features in a similar manner to Cyber Keys. The igniters plug into the back of the Speed Series figures in vehicle mode, and can be placed inside the larger figures in vehicle mode, often revealing extra weaponry. When the lever on top of the igniter is pressed down and then released, a wheel on the underside of the igniter will propel the figure forwards.

Undocumented in all of their instructions, all power series and nitro series figures have a 5mm port on their robot mode back, for storage of the Energon cores they come with or are designed to use.

Presumably owing to the smaller number of main characters in Bumblebee compared to other Transformers movies, the collector-focused toys of Bumblebee characters were released as part of the ongoing Studio Series line of movie toys. The line would later expand to include numerous toys from the brief opening scene on Cybertron, as well as toys based on the movie's unused concept designs. All toys branded as Bumblebee tie-ins are listed below.

TakaraTomy
In TakaraTomy's Bumblebee (バンブルビー) and Studio Series (スタジオシリーズ) lines, all figures are identical to their Hasbro counterparts, forgoing Takara's past practice of using more movie-accurate paint jobs. This is most likely due to the line being an official collaboration between Hasbro and TakaraTomy. However, there is one exclusive figure for the Bumblebee toyline, out of the two figures released. TakaraTomy and Hasbro also released several Bumblebee figures in the Masterpiece Movie Series line.

This article is about Bumblebee movie toys. For Bumblebee (Movie) toys, see Bumblebee (Movie)/toys.
Movie continuity family
« Bumblebee »

The Transformers: Bumblebee toyline coincides with the sixth film in the live-action film series. The toyline follows the same basis as the previous film's layout, with the majority of figures falling into two categories:

  • The "Energon Igniters" line, a series of small-to-large toys that can activate gimmicks when used together with an energon core, with a price-for-size scale similar to Cyberverse.
  • Collector-focused figures from the Studio Series toyline.

Energon Igniters

[edit]

    TakaraTomy

    [edit]

In TakaraTomy's Bumblebee (バンブルビー) and Studio Series (スタジオシリーズ) lines, all figures are identical to their Hasbro counterparts, forgoing Takara's past practice of using more movie-accurate paint jobs. This is most likely due to the line being an official collaboration between Hasbro and TakaraTomy. However, there is one exclusive figure for the Bumblebee toyline, out of the two figures released. TakaraTomy and Hasbro also released several Bumblebee figures in the Masterpiece Movie Series line.
