Rhinox reports to Prowl on the damage to the multiverse following the destruction of Primax 207.0 Epsilon, the reverberations of which have caused many other dimensions to merge into one another, or be destroyed entirely. Further, the Earth of 207.0 Epsilon was not the only thing to pass through the portal created by the Terminus Blade: two other ships have also crossed over, but the disruptive effect of the unravelling of space and time on their journey means that they could potentially emerge anywhere, in any era. Readings indicate that they are set to materialize in a time-locked era of history that is home to a powerful artifact known as the Origin Matrix, so the Optimus Primes of two universes are sent to recruit a tracker to help hunt down the missing ships and warn them of the danger it poses. Synopsis

[edit]

In Axiom Nexus, Rhinox reports to Prowl on the damages across the multiverse caused by Ultra Magnus destroying Primax 207.0 Epsilon. Some realities, such as Primax 509.28 Epsilon, remain unaffected. Others, however, are less fortunate; some universes are mashed together, their inhabitants merging with their counterparts, while others simply are torn apart by cosmic forces. Rhinox has another thing to report: Earth wasn't the only object to escape through the portal created by the Terminus Blade into Primax -408.24 Epsilon; two spaceships also managed to escape. Rhinox explains to Prowl that as Primax 207.0 Epsilon died, it began to unravel, destroying time as well as space, sending the space ships to another time period. This time period was timelocked ago, to hide a powerful artifact: the Origin Matrix! Hoping to warn any Autobots on the ships of the artifact's importance, Optimus Prime has sent two of his offworlder Primes to find a tracker. Arriving at their coordinates, the Primes bust in, interrupting Depth Charge and his fellow players' card game. The two tell him the TransTech need him to find a few bots, and Depth Charge, with little alternative, agrees...

Notes

[edit]

Continuity notes

[edit]
 • This story continues shortly after the events of "Invasion", where Ultra Magnus destroyed the Classicsverse, checking in with Rhinox on Axiom Nexus after the events of "Invasion Prologue". The two offworlder Optimus seen this in this story were introduced in "Prologue", as part of a force gathered by TransTech Optimus.
 • This story also bridges the last three years of Wings continuity storylines into next years storyline, with images from "A Flash Forward, Part 6" (published in the same issue) appearing on Rhinox's screen (pencils and inks by Matt Frank, colors by Thomas Deer). See "other trivia" below for more.

Transformers references

[edit]
 • One of the images on Rhinox's screen appears to show an iteration of Generation 1 Tracks and Galvatron being merged with alternate dimension counterparts. The other screen shows a universe being torn apart, as Generation 1 Hubcap and Prowl (among others) are sucked into the void.
 • This comic also serves as advertisement for upcoming toys: Depth Charge is the 2013 Club exclusive figure, while the others he's playing cards with are four of the six toys available through the club's 2013 subscription service. The Origin Matrix, meanwhile, is obviously the Matrix accessory included with the fifth subscription toy, Ultra Mammoth.

Errors

[edit]
 • Depth Charge is depicted as being a normal-sized Transformer. While perhaps not an error at the time of publishing, later stories set in his home dimension would show that he is a typical downsized Beast Era Cybertronian, and shouldn't even be half the size of his fellow card players.

Other trivia

[edit]
 • Initially made available through the Official Transformers Collectors' Club website in September 2012, this story was later reprinted in issue #48 of the club magazine.
 • The images seen on Rhinox's screen and the accompanying dialogue in the first panel are different between the online and print versions of the comic. The online version sported pictures of the Battlechargers, Side Burn, Jhiaxus, and the "Second Generation" Go-Bot clones from "A Flash Forward, Part 5", while the print version uses images from "A Flash Forward, Part 6", which would have been spoilers at the time the online version was released. The print version is the official version.[1]
