Dorothy Catherine Fontana (March 25, 1939December 3, 2019) was an American television writer. Best known for writing ten episodes of the original Star Trek series (including that one where Spock got high on spores and smacked Kirk around), she also wrote scripts for The Streets of San Francisco, The Waltons, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5 and ReBoot.
