Hot Shot's big head gets him in trouble, literally, when his own giant sculpture threatens to destroy Griffin Rock.

Synopsis

[edit]

The recruits marvel at the giant faces of Heatwave, Boulder, Blades, and Chase being hewn into the side of a mountain near Griffin Rock, but Heatwave himself is not impressed, believing rescue work is done for the sake of it, not for fame. The foreman on the site gives them a tour, showing how the rock they're removing is being used to build an entrance for the monument in front of the nearby dam. A suspended platform suddenly gives way, with the worker on it in danger of falling to the ground, and Heatwave has the recruits spring into action. While Whirl shields the humans on the ground, the others head up to the top of the monument and manage to rescue the worker before he can fall to his death. The rescued worker suggests the recruits' faces should be on the monument too, and Hot Shot takes this to heart. As they clean up the rocks, Hot Shot modifies the plans for the monument by adding the recruits' faces. The other recruits don't think much of this idea, but Hot Shot takes it on himself to use one of the platforms so he can start carving their faces in the mountain, and that's about where things go horribly wrong.

Hot Shot finishes making his own head, but causes a massive crack in the rock face that spreads to the nearby dam. The giant rock Hot Shot head comes loose and falls off the rock face. He's soon fleeing for his life with the giant head rolling after him, and Medix and Whirl give chase. Medix is able to catch up with him and he jumps onto Medix's vehicle mode. Whirl attempts to catch the head with her winch, but it has insufficient strength. Wedge lets them know the dam is also in danger of bursting, and Hot Shot comes up with a plan, using his blaster to redirect the path of the head. Whirl and Wedge set up a makeshift ramp, and the head ends up slamming into the crack in the dam, sealing it. Heatwave congratulates them on a rescue well done, and the other recruits note that Hot Shot's head is technically still on display.
