Renegade Rhetoric

[edit]

A member of Megatron's Renegade Decepticons, Crash Test followed her leader out of their home reality. On Earth in a new reality, Nightracer and Crash Test raided a Sumdac Systems research facility in a new reality. The Autobot Spy Changers arrived to investigate, only to be confronted by the Society of Ultimate Villainy. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/05/05 Next, Crash Test and Rumble infiltrated the International Exhibition Center in Metro City to steal Professor Morris's Brainwave Scanner. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/05/09 With all their stolen materials, the Renegade Decepticons upgraded themselves into the second generation of Go-Bots. Crash Test shared the same body-type as Wheeljack. The Go-Bots were now equipped with integrated flight circuits and hand blasters, which they used to drive the Autobots into retreat. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/05/12

Megatron's attempt to corrupt Optimus Prime's personality using the Brainwave Scanner turned the tables on him. "Nemesis Prime" proved to be just as ruthless and power-hungry as Megatron, leading to a split in the Go-Bots' faction. Crash Test and Frenzy sided with Nemesis Prime and abandoned Megatron's Decepticons. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/05/19

Crash Test's Go-Bots attempted to steal the power of the D-5 super-locomotive. When the Autobot Spy Changers foiled them, however, Nemesis Prime was put in a position where he threatened human life directly. This overcame his brainwashing, and the restored Optimus Prime defeated Crash Test and Frenzy. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/07/14

Generation 2

[edit]
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, that's a rare toy.
  • ??? (Go-Bot, 1995)
    • Accessories: Rifle
The toy which ultimately became the basis of the character Crash Test was originally a canceled Generation 2 Go-Bot, transforming into a Porsche 962 Le Mans-style race car: specifically, a Kremer Racing 962CK6. As with its fellow "new"-mold teammates, the figure's rifle stores under the car mode. It was given the ad hoc designation "GTP Racer" in the BotCon 1996 "Toys For Tots" charity auction listings, but the character it was intended to represent remains unknown.
The GTP Racer mold ultimately saw the light of day as Robots in Disguise Daytonus and later as the 2003 Universe incarnation of Wheeljack.
The Generation 2 character proceeded far enough along in development to receive dedicated package art (at top), which would eventually be published in Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging under the placeholder identification "4X", alongside those of Rumble, Hound, and "911".
