The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois that rose to fame in the grunge era of the early 1990s. The band's original line-up consisted of Billy Corgan, James Iha, D'arcy Wretzky and Jimmy Chamberlin, though currently the only original members left are Corgan and Chamberlin.

In 2007, they contributed the song "Doomsday Clock" from their album Zeitgeist to the Transformers soundtrack. It appears twice in the film: an instrumental version is played during the battle of Mission City and it is played again with vocals over the closing credits.
