In late July 2021, a Transformers-related alternate reality game began making the rounds on several prominent social media websites. Within a week, multiple social media accounts on these websites began posting material regarding a possible alien encounter in Canada and the rise of an enigmatic robotics corporation. About a week later, mainstream Transformers websites like TFW2005 began reporting on the game.
The story initially involved three major players: the mysterious Rebellium Dynamics corporation, an independent conspiracy theorist on Twitter with the handle "BlazarFocused", and an Imgur account known as "Hermes1984".
After many months of vague Twitter posts, question-dodging, and a general reluctance to advance the story in any meaningful capacity (an unfortunate result of them having to stall for time due to the product they were advertising being delayed), the ARG seemed to stall out before resuming activity in August 2022 on all accounts involved, along with introducing a new player, the mysterious hacking group "Dec0derZ". The ARG came to a head on September 1, 2022, and was revealed to have been a promotional tool for the virtual reality video game Transformers Beyond Reality, which released that day.
