Formed in 1989, Scanline VFX (often simply credited as just Scanline) is an animation and visual effect studio based out of Munich, Germany. The studio has gained praise for its simulation effects work, which can be seen in films like Free Guy, Godzilla Vs. Kong, both versions of Justice League, 2012 and several entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Black Panther, Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. In 2022, the company would be bought by Netflix.
Hired by Industrial Light & Magic, Scanline would contribute to the fifth and sixth entries of the Live-action film series providing "Additional Visual Effects".
