[[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]], while picking up [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] at the same airport, discovered the Decepticons, and sent a message to Prime, who dispatched the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]]s to deal with the Decepticons. A missile drop from [[Swoop (G1)|Swoop]] caused [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]] and [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] to crash into the hanger.

When Thundercracker and Thrust attacked from the air, [[Swoop (G1)|Swoop]] dropped a set of missiles on them, causing them to crash into the hangar and ruin it utterly after the Dinobots' thrashing. The Decepticons got back at the Dinobots for it, but had to withdraw afterwards. The hangar is a Decepticon operations center from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The hangar is located on the grounds of a commercial airport. It is one of many, distinguished only by the fact that the Decepticons decided to make it one of their extra bases. How the airport staff didn't notice that one of their hangars was occupied or that there were military jets flying in and out is a mystery for the ages.
