Notes
[edit]- This issue marks a couple of milestones:
- Firstly, it constitutes Go! Go!'s second "event" in a crossover with the nascent Wild King franchise.
- Second, it bears remarking that for the first time ever the web comic is advertising Transformers product actually designed for the same demographic as Go! Go!'s core readership, as opposed to toys for kids twice their age or straight up adults.
- It was published as the March 2025 issue of the web comic (pushed back to the end of the month to coincide with the premiere of the Wild King cartoon) and advertised Wild King (duh), the Transformers Fan Book 2024, and the first collected edition of Go! Go!.
Continuity notes
[edit]- Go! Go! author Haruka Oda helpfully notes that the Go! Go! special is not in continuity with the Wild King cartoon.[1]
Transformers references
[edit]- The planet "Elementros" that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are sightseeing here is, of course, the setting of the Wild King franchise.
- As usual, Oda maintains her penchant for toy accuracy here, with guest star Lightlong drawn based on his Wild King toy down to the 5 mm ports and transformation scheme. That said, given the Wild King cartoon is using what appears for all the world to be literal toy renders Oda may find herself outgunned this time around.
- Amusingly, while Optimus and Megatron keep their usual War for Cybertron Trilogy-derived Generation 1-style character models here, they both noticeably grow arms accurate to the toys of their Wild King incarnations for the sake of faithfully reproducing the Energy Beasts' combination schemes.
