The primary play pattern of Wild King is "Wildocking", where the numerous Energy Beasts turn into limbs that attach to the Energy Master figures, somewhat akin to the Scramble City style toys of the original Transformers line, only this time the connections are made via multiple 5 mm posts.
Of particular note is the sheer amount of mold reuse in the line: all of the Energy Beast toys use the same core torso & thigh mold combination, and many share arms and lower/beast legs with multiple others, with most of the differentiation coming from add-on beast heads/backs/tails and creative paint masking. The robot limb-parts all have the same 5 mm hole layouts as well, ensuring cross-compatibility.

You make everything groovy, Wild King!
Transformers: Wild King (トランスフォーマー ワイルドキング Toransufōmā Wairudo Kingu) is a TakaraTomy franchise launched in 2025. Its primary gimmick involves Energy Beasts, elementally-charged beast mode Transformers capable of "wildocking" with compatible Energy Masters. The toyline is accompanied by an online web series, which debuted in March 2025. It was followed by Transformers: Wild King W.
Its opening theme, "Wild King", is performed by Nao Anno.

Diorama story
[edit]In addition to the cartoon proper, Wild King is the subject of a second, supplementary show by the long-winded title Transformers: Wild King Extra Volume: Exciting Battle! Wildocking! (トランスフォーマー ワイルドキング 番外編 ドキドキバトル! ワイルドッキング!) which takes the form of a kind of stop motion-adjacent feature traditionally referred to as a "diorama story" where the toys themselves are used more or less like puppets to illustrate a lightly sketched toy-gimmick-centric narrative.
