Vietnam (Việt Nam) is a country in Asia bordered by China, Laos, and Cambodia. The country's largest city is Ho Chi Minh City, previously and still sometimes known as Saigon.
In real-life, Vietnam is a country experiencing rapid economic growth with a rich and interesting history... Although, according to Transformers media, the only thing that seems to have ever happened in it is the Vietnam War.

Transformers in Vietnam
[edit]One notable aspect about the Transformers brand in Vietnam is the presence of several Hasbro factories across the country: according to a 2024 list [1], they host a whole fifteen "third party" facilities that produce goods for the American company, making them the country with the second largest Hasbro manufacturing presence only behind China. This means that a lot of modern Transformers figures are Vietnamese-made... And, as a result, whenever figures are leaked before their official release dates, it is also not too uncommon that they first pop up in Vietnam.

Notes
[edit]
- Concept art for the 2018 Bumblebee movie from artist Thomas Pringle features a scene in Vietnam (presumably, yet again, set during the war), where Bumblebee is chased by Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopters. This ended up being cut out of the final movie.
