==Notes==
*The phrase "80,000 psi of rotational force" doesn't really mean much, as rotational force (AKA torque or moment) can't be measured in psi (which measures force per unit area). Common measures for torque are the ''newton meter'' (Nm) and ''pound-foot'' (lb·ft, not to be mistaken with the ''foot-pound'' which measures energy).

I self-narrate like this, too. "That fist—smashing my nose in—"

The torque rifle is Air Raid's weapon of choice. Despite its name, it's really more of a pistol than a rifle. Air Raid can also fire it from his nosecone in jet mode.

Fiction

Air Raid's torque rifle's beam could apply up to 80,000 psi of rotational force to any object. Air Raid's Universe profile

Ramjet and Shrapnel felt the effects of the torque rifle as the Aerialbots defended Hoover Dam from Decepticon raiders. Aerialbots over America!

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

[edit]

In robot mode, Air Raid used a torque rifle that applied up to 80,000 psi of rotational force to any object, stressing or shredding most objects. Air Raid's More than Meets the Eye profile

Toys

[edit]

The Transformers

[edit]
  • Air Raid (Aerialbot, 1986, 1991)
    • Accessories: torque rifle
The Transformers Air Raid came with a black gun, identified in his instructions and packaging bio as a torque rifle.
This toy was also available as part of a Superion giftset and was reissued as part of the European/Australian Classics line, while in Japan, it was made available as mail-away item during Return of Convoy.

Generation 2

[edit]
  • Air Raid (Aerialbot, 1994)
    • Accessories: torque rifle
Air Raid and his torque rifle returned in Generation 2. While Air Raid was redecoed, the rifle was not.

Notes

[edit]
  • The phrase "80,000 psi of rotational force" doesn't really mean much, as rotational force (AKA torque or moment) can't be measured in psi (which measures force per unit area). Common measures for torque are the newton meter (Nm) and pound-foot (lb·ft, not to be mistaken with the foot-pound which measures energy).
